Health, Wealth, Virtue, Long Life and an Easy Death

The title wants everything: it catalogues desire without hierarchy, stacking blessings until they buckle under their own weight and then the final demand, an easy death. Two fortune cookies in black stoneware cite the vessel’s ritual logic while refusing its containment: a white crackle glaze fractures across each shell, a rim of 14-carat gold traces the edge, and from each inner lip spill entrails of red thread the fortune no longer a slip of paper but a visceral excess. The cookies cannot break, and the fortunes cannot be read: a functional form held at the exact point where function fails.
